Been a while since I chased Rios......... Fun birds to hunt as long as you don't mind everything you touch sticking in you. I hunted Irion county........pretty handy a little town called Mertzen.
Most likely this will be the first year that I have not taken a spring tom in recent memory.
Did not seem like we had as many birds this year as in previous years.
Quien Sabe?
My only defense is that this year we are making a serious effort to put a dent in the hog population, and I've used most of my time during the three excursions to the "Petting Zoo" to set up/set pens and traps. We have nailed 44 hoglets since February. Our goal is to elimante 100 porkers by the start of Archery season (first weekend in October).
