Years ago we had a place with a mile of frontage on Peach Creek near Cut N' Shoot, Tx. Grew up shooting Wood Ducks off that creek. I knew where the nooks and crannies where they hung out. Even so I probably missed more than I shot. Can definitely give you a startle if you're not paying attention and several but out of their hide.
