Hell...another thing I learned is that the whole "stay together till the kids are gone" idea is sometimes worse for the kids too.
Bad relationships are bad relationships. Everyone knows its bad. Even these dumb kids nowadays.
You can do as much or more damage to a kid by staying together as you can by separating.
Most kids know it's bad even if they can't explain it right away. And at an age MUCH younger than you'd think. Talking 4 and 5 years old - kids are smart, all they do is watch mom, dad and spongebob. They pick up on things.
