I don't know him so I didn't say what you said, but I would have told a friend exactly that. You are a good friend to tell him what you did and I hope you have called him up and reamed him thoroughly. Can you imagine the embarrassment of having your soon to be ex-wife's attorney putting all this on a screen in court. I can't imagine the embarrassment that 58 year old woman feels if she saw her picture and the comments about being torn between 2 lovers.
