Not really, other than in a limited sense used at the time, meaning a member of the Tribe of Judah. There was another sense, however, in use at that time, which meant an adherent of the religion propagated by the rabbis. Jesus was only a Jew in the first sense, and condemned the Jews according to the second sense, calling them children of their father the Devil. The religion that Jesus promoted and adhered to was that of the Patriarchs and Prophets, which was quite a thing apart from that propagated by the rabbis of his time or since.

"Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God." - John 5:18

Do you suppose that Jesus was amongst those seeking to kill Jesus? If not, then he wasn't a Jew in the sense being used by John.
