Here Jesus is distinguishing the religion he propagated while on earth from that adhered to by the Jews of his time, and since. He associates himself with Moses, Abraham, the Patriarchs, and Prophets; and associates the Jews of his time (and since) with those who corrupt that religion, and twist it into a religion in the service of the Devil, i.e., a religion that rejects him.
