I've hunted VA a good bit. It doesn't have the altitude of the west but it has about 1.8 million acres of national forest, 215K of which are designated wilderness, with some sure enough rough country where you can get away from people. People who've never been don't know that.
As far as your hard-on for 'stick, you know what they say about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. It looks like you're doing your best, but your pics don't have near the quality or subject matter.
