been down with a bad ear infection the last week, starting to get better, wet to the doc today.

they could, I was with her yesterday but I left Stubbs at the ranch when I came home to see the Dr. Dr said I might get some hearing back in that ear once it's healed, right now I'm completely deaf in it.
Sorry to hear about the hearing loss. Pity you chose not to deem it prudent to seek medical attention, even after many strongly advised you to. Oh, well. Now pass the baton, if you please. My boy wants out of south TX.
