he is delusional and psychotic recognizes this in himself and recognizes the similarity between himself and these psychotics and is scared of his own personality. There is no point debating him. He is afraid of himself and what he could do, so he pushes gun control.
That is a very astute observation.
I've found it to be typical of his type. This along with Bob's observation that they always consider themselves to be the smartest person in the room and can make up law that will outsmart the collective intelligence of an entire nation.
