You should trust a doctors judgement, even outside his field of expertise if he has knowledge and experience on the topic.
You really are full of yourself, aren't you. I would trust a doctor no more than anyone else. As a matter of fact, I know of a few instances within my immediate family when doctors couldn't even diagnose a medical condition. In on of those, a nurse pegged it where the doctor failed.
I agree with Bob and Steelhead on the fly-fishing observation.
It's just about the same as being a doctor. Being one means nothing in particular, but if you brag about being one, or think being one confers some special status, you're just a pompous ass.
