4 inch barrel does all I need. With my old eyes, hunting with this revolver is a close range proposition . I get plenty of close range opportunity here in Florida. Swamps, creek beds, and palmetto thickets. Close and fast shooting. It does a fine job on feral pigs with those 240 grain cast bullets.
