I cannot say that I have ever owned a simply rugged holster. That being said, I did examine one. The stitching seemed fair and the quality of leather overall seemed pretty good. It seemed like a good product and a decent buy for the dollar.

I cannot comment on wear durability, if the leather gets soft over time or any of those things. I can say that I have not heard much negative about the products. I think they are probably a pretty safe bet, money wise. I just don't have any "hard use" experience to relate.

The good and or bad thing about having what I consider a good and longtime friend in the holster business is that it does not take me long to figure out what to get, or for the wife to decide on gifts sometimes. She just calls the the shop and asks " what does he need?"
