Took a 5 point Kentucky buck on opening day at 85 yards. One shot through the ribs with an exit hole about the size of a golf ball.
I've taken a lot of boys out over the years....when they are 12 to 14 or so... and carrying Grandpa's old 30/06 they were given...
that kicks the crap out of them...
but a 150 grain FN and 30 grains of IMR 4198... right at the 30/30 velocities....
shootable, rifle will kick less than a 30/30, due to a little more weight...and stock shape...
and on the average, more accurate than many 30/30s, especially Grandpa's old one that's hung in the closet for a long time...
