Barnes 110 grain TTSX flat base
Varget 58.5 grains
Lapua brass
Federal 210M primers
COAL 3.190 (measured from the federal commercial load)

Groups measured 0.4 inches out of a Browning Safari grade (three shots at 100 yards)
Velocity (LabRadar) = 3404 fps

Responsible for two whitetail does around 160 yards. Neither took a step.

Recoil is like a 7mm-08 reduced recoil load - Really fun to shoot. Just clean your barrel often.

I have an old, 27" heavy barrel .30-06 I take along on PD shoots. I shoot VMax's out of it exclusively:

Hornady 110 grain VMax
Hodgdon H4895 56.5 grains (+- 0.1 grain)
Lapua brass
Federal 210M primer
COAL: ~3.245"
MV: 3,300+ fps

It's a sad day when 5 shot groups go over 1/2"

It's you and the bullet, and all the rest is secondary.
