What I have used for my sons is the 125 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip for the 30-06 reduced load.
Another option is to load the 30/30-06. I use 150 gr RN 30/30 bullets and IMR 4759 to get 2400 fps. You can also use the 170 gr flat nose @ 2200 fps. The Speer manual will list the powder charge.
These are very low recoil loads and quite accurate in a bolt action with a scope.
