Here's an action shot. First existing snow and hauled in snow along with lots of water is applied and compacted to encapsulate the tundra. Then the ice chips and lots more water is used to make a road surface. We're in much rougher terrain than one may see elsewhere.. Not much snow here, just a few inches. Can't show the equipment... Road needs to support 1.6 million pounds at 32 feet wide without doubt for oil rigs.

Arctic fox. Cute little chits begging for a 17hmr but of course we can't. They say 90? percent of the red and Arctic fox carry rabies. No bs, feed them and fly home... Our work area is flown with FLIRs to clear for polar bears before we can work. Far enough from the coast here, the bears are out on the sea ice now, which does still exist... But supposedly during big blows some end up inland. They do munch on people, so I don't need them.
