Just the other week I came across our 25th reunion book from 15 years back. Two former USMC and a guy who had crewed on Puff the Magic Dragon gunship (DC 3?) in Vietnam in my group.
I did drive out to that reunion (in SC) but had never browsed the book. One guy (didn’t make the reunion) spent 2yrs in Ghana and took a Commission in the AF (Meteorology IIRC). Some years later he’s in Nigeria and ends up being the ranking Officer over the Embassy Marines (AKA “Africa Corps”) duringa coup attempt.
Remarkable, all I did was go to Grad School and then go teach.
