So the verse quoted above can be said, “In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus is God.”
No sht sherlock. The point is that the writer used the word logos, which means a "divine utterance", both written and spoken to tell us that Christ and His words as recorded in the Bible are divine. Otherwise the author would have just used the word Christ.
