SO WITH 13 PAGES and over 120 replies for good .30-06 loads we have given the OP a long list of "good loads", no two are the same. And none of them may do very well in his rifle.
So, is all this help any help? Not much. Desires for using other people's loads as "shortcuts" are futile when finding a good load.
Well said. Not only is it futile, but just the thought of someone jumping at the bit, loading some of my '06 loads in a low numbered 1903 Springfield is downright spooky.
Shortcutting load work up and development of safe, accurate ammo is not only unwise, it's also a recipe for disaster. Do it right. Each rifle "likes" it's own, unique combination of powder, case, primer, bullet, OAL, etc. One size does NOT fit all.
