They're not as common in the hill country as they are a little further west, but there's enough. I guarantee you'll think about them when you're sittin' out there in the dark, tryin' to sound like a wounded rabbit.
My Uncle from near odessa...told me a story once where they were sittin in the back of a pickup playin a wounded rabbit "call" on one of those old tape recording devices...and one of them putty cats jumped up in the middle of the bed....said they found all of their piss....but none from the kitty...
