And, I toldja how to get rid of the damned things. Hayfields, which is where I spent a DAMNED good chunk of my misspent youth, are rife with chiggers. You get good at knowing how to get rid of them.
I always went with the scratch-like-hell-and-douse-with-turpentine method. My younger brother, IIRC, did the hot wax... which may explain much about him, now that I think about it...
So, for you, yeah, the hot wax method is likely quite appropriate.
