I lived out here for 18 years and have only seen harmless garter and rat snakes. I have been bit a bunch of times by scorpions, the sting gets your attention but nothing toxic.
Looking forward to seeing pictures of the trip and of you in shorts and rubber boots.
18 yrs and only rat or garter snakes? You either have been very lucky or spend most of your time in the city.
No one needs to panic over the rattlesnakes your right, but they are here, lots of em. I live 45 minutes from Austin and I see plenty.
Still plenty enough of them that a person needs to look where they sit and pay attention in tall grass. But they are not behind every bush like some fear.
You guys need extra? We got plenty.
