I hunt differently and hunt different types of places than Stick, but consider me as one that likes SWFAs on a backpack hunt. I've used them a bunch and haven't had an issue.

Don’t get me wrong, I really like the lower profile, stiffer turrets of the SWFA 3-9 and 10x HD. The larger knobs of the cheaper fixed powers and 3-15 is where myself and several acquaintances have seen issues.


Never had an issue with the fixed powers myself. The turrets spinning unwanted can be mitigated by a simple wrap of electric tape or by using the rubber gasket zero stop. Different strokes I suppose.

Same. Multiple 3-9's and fixed powers have been fine riding on my pack, truck, ATV, etc. With a little preemptive thought and consideration, unwanted turret spinning is an easy problem to fix/prevent.
