Some of the best non-ungulate meat I've
had was when the gates were flung open at
an emu ranch by a friend's place during the
boom/bust of raising emus.
They were running around wild for a few
months and more than a few were the guest
of honor for a few suppers.
Makes really tasty spaghetti and a good
hamburger

I know of a few people that hunt every year
and pay the money for processing their deer,
only to have it sit in the freezer for months on
end until they get tired of moving it around to
make room for the hot pockets and red barron
pizzas and toss it if it's old, or give it away

It's a sin
