My best loads for the 338 Federal (range pic-up cases) I have has involved a 358 Winchester die to make "338 Improved" from them, then seating 225 grain (.358) Partitions on top of 49 grains of IMR 4895. Alternatively, 15.0 - 17.0 grains of Blue Dot with a Lyman "204" grain (358315) cast, gas-check bullet shows plenty of good stuff.
