My do-it-all load for the Fed is still the 200g Woodleigh with 44 grains of Benchmark ( Benchmark 2 here ) with 210M in Fed 338 cases. These bullets are designed especially for .338-06 and Fed velocities and are very reliable killers. particularly when a bit of bone is involved.

ScottishKat, can I ask what stock you went for with your Sako 85? I have a similar problem with mine, and am awaiting a price on a McMillan Hunter. My Sako 85 (a 7RM) shoots .5 to 3/4" groups consistently, but the POI shifts regularly between shooting sessions.Not good for confidence! Sorry if this is a bit "off-topic".
