The X57 case was the base of several great rounds. I did have a 98 Mauser in 6X57, the German one. I laughed as the 6mm Rem came out (244) and was later re-named to that, a fantastic Remington development first created by the Germans at the turn of the 20th Century. We compromised here a long time ago with the 257 Roberts.
