I have one, I like it. For any new shooter that is the first caliber that I recommend. Falls somewhere between a .243Win and .308Win which is just about perfect for a kid or lady with a one rifle battery. A little light for elk but perfect any deer type critter. I shot my mule deer buck this year out here in the wide open west at about 45 yards - yes, with a 6.5 Creedmoor. I also don't care for long range hunting, but dinging steel plates out around 4-500 yards is fun. Doing the same with a 30-06 is only fun for about 10 shots then the shoulder says that's enough. I think it's a great caliber, has been hyped a bit too much but I know a good thing when I see it and plan on keeping at least one around for a long time.
