I bought a Montana in 7-08, before they had them in 6.5 Creed. If they had - I would have.

99.5% of all my hunting shots are 100-220 yards - Creed and 7-08 do pretty well there, not just long.

Bullets matter a smidge as someone once said and the .264 and .284 diameters tend to have dang good bullets with impressive BC/SD should I want to go long.

If your panties really are that bunched up about 6.5 Creedmoors and their capabilities or popularities - we should all be so lucky to have life so dicked that this concern would garner any energy or attention.

It's a great cartridge that does a lot in a handy package. Don't see anyone saying you have to have it OVER what's already in your stable - but it is often recommended to those looking for something new because it is new and does a lot well and very little not so great.
