The 260 could have really been something if Remington had any sense, but that's assuming Remington wouldn't turd in the punch bowl.
Instead it came with screwed up twist rates & terrible marketing.


Rem did the same thing with the 280. Dooming a cartridge at birth with dorked up marketing seems to be one of Rem's specialties.

What most people I talk to don't know about the 6.5CR and most gun rag articles don't mention is the only reason the 6.5CR was developed is because when loaded with the very high BC bullets the 260's OAL is too long to fit in detachable magazines - e.g. an AR-10 mag.
