Gene may be a great guy but he sure has some weird ways of showing it, comming on like a troll and all. I found a small piece that was written by a Gene Langston in the Athens Banner Hearld. Not bad. So is this the real Gene L or an imposter it is hard to tell from where I am sitting...but I think we have the real deal on our hands and he is an A-Hole of the first degree but a nice guy just the same. Ought to fit rite in once he learns that he is not going to change the way things opperate around here.

Hey BW--I read the article as well. It was well written and demonstrated to me that he is a patriot. A man who has served his country and has been in LE for 30t years generally comes out of the introduction gate with my respect. Yeah he can piss you off but which one of us new guys on given certain days hasn't pissed off some folks. It's a learning process and while I might take a different approach to a mea culpa than Gene, if you read carefully, you can see when he's attempting to turn things around. He just likes to get in a couple F U's on the way backwards. I respect that as well.I remember in my 1st month I said some rather degrading things to djmbow and Ethan. I deservedly got a knot jerked in my ass and have attempted since then to be less disparaging when in a debate that gets rather heated emotionally. Quite frankly, djmbow has been cracking me up lately with his way of using pics to illustrate his points. Very clever. Finally, when you think of djmbows earlier post,Gene has over 200 very quick replies to this post. He does draw us in from many emotional directions. And,if were all honest,I bet each of us is quick to click on Gene L when seen in the forum menu. I know I do and I will continue to do so. Gene--Have you aged much in your 3 years since that picture??
