Back in 89 or 90 I went with a buddy to look at a used VW bug. He ended up buying the car from a scrawny hippy looking guy. A couple years later while cleaning out the car to sell he looked at the bill of sale and noticed the name. Kurt Cobain. He wasn't the big star yet and didn't appear strung out, just a poor kid trying to make music.
I've met quite a few "celebrities" while working at a local sporting goods store. The most famous though was a guy who goes by big stick. He was a nice guy, and I even sold him a rifle.
