I've been hunting for 35 years or so and have never had a Leupold scope fail, or personally known anyone who has. The fact that my rifles sight and stay sighted year after year is a disincentive to take them to the range--I guess that's a drawback, seen in a certain light. None of mine are newer than about 8 years, though, so maybe they make nothing but junk now. Or, maybe "tactical" rifles just subject rifles to stresses my mountain and varmint rifles never experience.

It's a puzzle. Good thing Swaros never fail.
