Thats exactly what I was going to do with it for my son.Its a throw down gun - Rossi 223 and he needs a throw down scope for Kitty Cat hunting.
Does it hold up pretty well for punishment by a kid ??
Rodngun I can't say the fire fly has a some what pampered life on my 223 just a Rem. 700 SPS sporter night hunts just me and I haven't gave it to many knocks. but the 3200's I've had seem to sand up fine and if you find them on sale good value and its the only lit reticle not needing a batery just a flash light have it with any way hope this helps.
