Which of course will eventually fail because the "new" owners will not want to bare the burden of the old.
Kind of how Craftsman took a step back a bunch of years ago when they took back the lifetime replacement of their tools. I think they put it back but not 100% sure as I don't buy their stuff any more because generally speaking I end up needing the warranty.
This is not a knock against Leupold as I've only had to send one Leupold back but it was a bum right out of the box.
