I understand that Wilkes was pissed off because of some of the things that were done to the South. For instance, William Tecumseh Sherman was a freakin terrorist, and what he ordered to be done was downright terrorism. His march to the sea, left a lot of Southerners, in really bad shape, financially and otherwise. But, the killing of Lincoln caused more suffering of the South.
