all you need to do is understand the concept of The Long Con. i know people who have run the con for decades and people defend them because they have never personally been screwed and may even have benefited. Sociopaths are usually pretty smart and will groom cohorts much like pedophiles groom victims. the bottom line is that eventually the grooming and con ends and the screwing begins. i have read enough about this particular individual to recognize what is going on. many "religious" people exhibit this behavior as do some insurance agents and financial advisers.
