He was in the Alaska Range, and that's about all the closer I will saylaugh.
As far as weight: I have no idea. The biologist who sealed the hide and skull said she thought it was a 4 year old, so not a big mature male or anything, but just an average bear. If I had to guess, I would say 300 lbs but honestly have no idea. I was 5.1 air miles from camp, so I would guess 8-10 ground miles, so I just skinned it on the spot and packed the hide and skull out. It did square a bit over 6 feet and its skull green scored 18 inches, which is averaged sized for a mountain grizzly, from what little I know about them.

I am more than happy with it regardless.
