The secrets I was referring to are parking in a place that looks like you can't get to where you want to go, donning waders or some other method to get across a seeming barrier, and then walking in to save the long hike in by the normal routes.

Some folks here might see that and say "why didn't I think of that", instead of taking a pass on the normal 20 mile hike in...............which they are reluctant to do.

Oh, sorry to hear about the winter kill stuff. That sucks. Hoping we have a mild one here for our game after such a crappy drought year. Can't see any species here going into winter in prime shape, every bush, blade of grass, etc is dried out for the most part.
