Moses prophesied in Deuteronomy that the Lord would annihilate Israel and scatter it for their sins turning them over to their enemies Deut. 32:15-34. But in verse 35-43 he restores them and in these verses Moses prophesies the events that have happened in the last century.
Patriotism (and religion) is the last refuge of a scoundrel.
