You'd be surprised how many people are exactly as Bob describes. Some are even worse.
I have a friend who thinks he's going to kill a big game animal at long range by developing a load, sighting it in over a chronograph, printing the data and sticking it on his rifle.
Shooting more than a box of ammo is out of the question. Might wear out the rifle and cost too much, ya know
I know a few Bozo's who think the same. Huskemaw scopes were the rage around here a couple years ago. I have a pretty nice range and get a lot of visitors who want to try their long range rigs out. They usually leave disappointed that their level of skill was not as high as they thought. You cannot buy the skills needed to do it right with cash, only with range time.
