You avoid the logical progression argument. Lincoln had NO authority to do any of what he did. The Southern states did. Totalitarianism vs freedom, and you choose the former in spite of your own words.
America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.
