Talked to the gentleman who killed the big deer today,he actually shot it 2 weeks ago. He didn't score it but said it had 5" bases 12" G2's and 16" inside spread(which surprised me) He actually killed it across the road and it was pushed out of a huge cattail swap.He laid all the cards out and full disclosure as we chatted for over an hour.He knew the deer was there since June,but it vanished on him for a while. My suspicion that it was dead already last weekend when I stopped to talk to him was correct.He said he really didn't know me but after speaking to a mutual acquaintance he felt comfortable telling me everything.We agreed to share our intell next season and I'll keep the back side of his property secure and he will do the same for me. I can't be to upset as it's his larger pieces of property,food plots and QDM that make my spot good as well.
