Did it over penetrate. Nice gun and bird. Wish we could hunt them with a rifle here in Missouri.
Target of opportunity, as hens & gobblers are both legal during deer season in Texas. In the spring it's only gobblers.
One morning last season a group of them were roosting near my blind. As daylight came they'd take off and fly toward my blind, no more than 5-6 feet away at eye level, and then land just out of view. After 4 or 5 of them went past, one at a time, I was wishing for a pistol, instead of Dad's old .25-06, and its funky old Weaver.
