I had that same thought as well. Mine has a walnut stock, too...
So does mine, 270 Winchester, an American Classic.
yeah, it's funny. I keep having to screw around tuning & tinkering on "modern" rifles with synthetic stocks & chit. The .270 #1 puts 3 in 5/8" with the 2nd load I tried. The .475 Turnbull puts 3 in 9/16" with the first handload I try. And both of them look nice
