The wax that impregnates the cardboard portion of the snuff can will smoulder and burn for a while 10-15 minutes with the lid on, giving you a little pocket handwarmer. I'll keep my firestarter kit in a Copenhagen can for that possibility. Once all the wax is burned out after 2-3 relights, the cardboard makes for a good fire tinder.
