John, I'm 65 and the first time I saw the 7mm Rem Mag in use was when I was 13 and my oldest brother-in-law took a little western Washington blacktail with his. That deer probably weight a buck and a quarter alive and it died rather suddenly. It impressed the heck out of a kid.

I never owned a 7 Mag until the mid 90's when I was rebuilding my rifle collection after a divorce and bought a Remington 700. It is one of the most accurate factory rifles I've owned but any game animal is safe when I carry it. Put that rifle in my hands and I don't see game. I generally don't believe in superstitions or luck but that rifle's best role in hunting is to stay at home in the safe. I should probably sell it on consignment or give it away to someone I don't like but just haven't gotten around to it.
