Ya it's called a tower dump, that was mentioned pages ago (by yours truly). It takes time to get that data from cell providers...and more time to sift through all the info. Then they would have to locate specific numbers that were connected to the tower, determine the carriers for those numbers, the registered owners, then chase down those leads.

They could dump the closet tower (don't know if it's a mile away). They could also interrogate the wifi router if the residence had one to see what devices connected to it.

This is a quadruple homicide. Kinda high stakes. You don't want to prematurely focus on any one person, or talk to people before you have the goods (ie lab results, phone data, etc). That means it could be months down the road...

Unless they believe this was a random serial type murder, then action might be a necessity
