I think women like the one in the article are seriously wounded and a step beyond “crazy”. Falling “in love” with a guy that has no chance of release gives her the false sense of being loved and accepted while requiring nothing in return from her. She doesn’t have to worry about his likes or dislikes, she doesn’t have to keep the house up to his expectations or fix dinner when he gets home. She can tell her friends that she has a husband who is the “love of her life” and she can get back at daddy and mommy for whatever perceived slights she had to deal with growing up but she does NOT have to deal with or concern herself with pleasing him. It’s a “relationship” that isn’t and it carries NO responsibility for either party.
You're rationalizing it from a man's perspective. Women are wired completely different.
She's just a couple of standard deviations crazier than other women. That's all.
