The Russians undoubtedly have figured out that they're up against amateurs as far as NATO is concerned. The U.S.A. is the big NATO Poobah and it's currently being ran by a mentally deficient President and his administration which is made up of transvestites, women, and soyboys.
The Ukranian military *was* plenty tough enough. But most of its experienced men went through the Bakhmut meat grinder. Now they're fighting with men that were too slow to outrun the people who were tasked with grabbing them off the street and sticking them on the front line.
As for the rest of NATO, it's mostly ran by a bunch of frat/soyboys or women and the populations that are under them aren't too anxious to go to war on the direction of the country that blew up their natural gas pipeline.
